Career overview:
Francisco Javier de Cos Juez was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1972. He received the B.E. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Leon, Leon, Spain, in 1995, and the M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Oviedo,
Oviedo, Spain, in 1999 and 2003, respectively.
In 2000, he joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of La Rioja, as a Lecturer.
Since December 2001, he has been with the Department of Mining Exploitation and Prospecting, University of Oviedo, where he was an Assistant Professor. He became an Associate Professor in 2011 and a full Professor in 2015. He was elected Head of the Asturian Institute for Space science and technology in 2019.

Application of artificial intelligence techniques to tomographic reconstruction in adaptive optics.
Alternative LGS configurations for Adaptive Optics, Projected Pupil Plane Pattern (PPPP)
Photometry and planetary search.
